  1. OFFICIAL RULES

    1. Sponsor. _The Sleeman Retail Store BBQ Giveaway Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Sleeman Breweries Ltd. (c.o.b. Sleeman Retail Store & Tap Room) (“Sponsor”).
    2. Contest Period: The Contest will begin at 12:01 am ET on August 1, 2023 and close at 11:59 pm ET on September 30, 2023 (the “Contest Period”).
    3. Prizes. There is one (1) Prize available to be won. The Prize consists of a Weber barbecue.
    4. Chances of winning. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
    5. Eligibility and Conditions. The Contest is open to residents of Ontario who are of legal drinking age at the time of entry. Notwithstanding the foregoing, to be eligible to win, the entrant must not be an employee or a member of the immediate family of, or domiciled with an employee of: the Sponsor; any business, company, fiduciary or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated with the Sponsor; their promotional agencies; and the Prize supplier (collectively, the “Contest Parties”); the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (“AGCO”); or of any licensees authorized by the AGCO.

    The AGCO is not connected with this Contest in any manner whatsoever and are not liable in any way whatsoever with respect to any matter relating to this Contest.

    1. How to Play. No purchase necessary. Enter the Contest by completing and submitting an entry form on the Contest Website at SLEEMANRETAILSTORE.CA/CONTEST, including the correct answer to a math skill-testing question,. All entrants who participate in the Contest according to this section and these Rules automatically receive one (1) entry for a Prize when they submit an entry form. One entry per person.
    2. Chances of Winning. The chances of winning a Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
    3. Awarding Prizes. A random draw from among the entries for each Prize will be held at approximately 2 PM EST October 1, 2023 (“Prize Draw Date”), at the Sponsor’s offices at 551 Clair Road West, Guelph, Ontario N1L 1E9. The selected entrant for the Prize will be contacted by phone or email and will be informed of the procedure to claim the Prize.
    4. Selected Entries. The Sponsor or its designated representative will make a maximum of three (3) attempts to contact each selected entrant by email within three (3) business days of the Prize Draw Date. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) attempts or three (3) business days of the Prize Draw Date (whichever occurs first), or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable, then that selected entrant will be disqualified and will forfeit all rights to the Prize, and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries, in which case the provisions of this section shall apply to such new selected entrant.

    Before being declared a winner of the Prize, the selected entrant will be required to sign and return: (a) a document in a form acceptable to the LCBO releasing the LCBO, its directors, officers, employees and agents from all liability of any kind in connection with the contest, or occurring as a result of the prize being awarded; and (if different) (b) the Sponsor’s declaration and release form, which (among other things):

    • confirms compliance with these Rules;
    • acknowledges acceptance of the Prize as awarded;
    • releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, the selected entrant’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof; and
    • agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of the selected entrant’s name, city of residence, voice, statements about the Contest and/or image without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or online.

    If a selected entrant fails to satisfy the above requirements within the specified time, then they will be disqualified and will forfeit all rights to the Prize, and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible Entries, in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new selected entrant.

    1. Prize Conditions. The following general conditions apply to each Prize:

    (a)                Prize must be accepted as awarded, may not be assigned, and is not transferable or convertible to cash. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option, in its sole discretion.

    (a)                The costs and arrangements of everything not specifically stated in the Prize description above as being included in the Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. 

    (b)                Sponsor reserves the right at any time to place reasonable restrictions on the availability or use of the Prize or any component thereof and substitute the Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a prize or a prize component of equal or greater value, including, without limitation, but solely at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, a cash award.

    (c)                 If the winner does not utilize any part(s) of the Prize, then any such part(s) not utilized will be forfeited in its (their) entirety and nothing will be substituted in its (their) place.

    (d)                By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to waive all recourse against the Released Parties if the Prize or a component thereof does not prove satisfactory, either in whole or in part.
